Practical and statement – just a cacophony of brioche, short rows with bobbles, a pop of lurex and a framing of hairy loopy yarn – something large and voluminous; to wrap and envelop. Worked in techniques that are not too much of a challenge. Ending in a large 'use up all the yarn' tassel.

Brioche knitting may have originated in the Middle East. However, the term brioche seems to have derived from French slang for ‘mistake’. The name might be a reference to the brioche bread roll, which is formed of two pieces, one stacked atop the other.

YOU WILL NEED

1 x 100g WARM MOONSHINE, natural grey, 400m/100g, 65% alpaca, 25% silk, 10% cashmere

1 x 100g WARM COBBLESTONE, hand dyed Karma Coma colourway by Luxury Yarns, 365m/100g, 60% superwash merino, 20% silk, 20% yak

1 x 50g TIBETAN MILLIONAIRE, 200m/100g, 50% silk, 50% yak

1 x 100g CHUNKY HAIRY LOOP, 100m/100g, 88% Kid Mohair, 9% wool, 3% nylon, single ply bouclé construction

1 x 10g SILVER, Rico Ricorumi Lamé DK, 50m/10g, 62% polyester, 38% nylon

4mm 80cm circular needle, worked forward and backwards + sewing-up needle

FINISHED SIZE: (when washed and blocked) length 170cm, width 190cm

GAUGE: 20sts and 24rows to 10cms on 4mm needles worked in stocking st (however, the exact gauge is not important)
